Guests may choose lunch, shaded from the
midday sun by a canvas awning, or a romantic
candle-lit dinner under a star-filled sky.
Tamarind Dhows now have both dhows “Nawalilkher
“ and “Babulkher” offering you and your quests a
magical experience together with the finest of
Tamarind cuisine. “Nawalilkher” with a capacity
for 65 pax for dinner and 100 for cocktails is
the main dhow available for individual booking.
“Babulkher” with a capacity of 55 pax for dinner
and 70 pax for cocktails will also be available
for exclusive hire.
The lunchtime cruise departs from the Tamarind
jetty at 12.30 pm, cruise gently up the Tudor
creek to a quiet spot where the Dhows moors.
Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the Indian
Ocean or sunbathe on the upper sun deck before
lunch, which consists of a delicious Tamarind
seafood platter, or a prime Kenyan fillet steak
followed by fresh tropical fruit salad, and
rounded off with Kenya coffee and halwa. The
dhows returns to the jetty at 2.30 pm.
The dinner cruise commencing at 6.30 pm, begin
with a welcome “Dawa” cocktail as the Dhow sails
smoothly towards Fort Jesus. The twinkling
lights of Mombasa and the starlit skies provide
idyllic surroundings for a delicious seafood
dinner. The resident band on board offers a wide
choice of dance music, from the latest hits to
the golden oldies. Dance to the beat as you
gently glide back to the Tamarind jetty by 1030
pm. The evening trip on the dhow is an excellent
romantic spot for newly-weds and those wishing
to propose.
